Early detecting, timely handle for influenza A (H7N9) not to spread
This is the target set in the prevention plan of influenza A (H7N9) in people has just been promulgated by Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee.
Accordingly, the plan sets out specific objectives in four situations of epidemic diseases. Situation 1 (no cases in human) focuses on early detecting the cases of infiltration into Khanh Hoa province or in the community to handle thoroughly to avoid spreading. Situation 2 (there are cases of influenza A (H7N9) in humans but not yet spread from person to person) focus on localizing, thoroughly treat the outbreak to minimize the spread from animal to human. Situation 3 (detected cases of influenza A (H7N9) from human to human but in narrow or single cases) focus on fast response, timely treatment, thoroughly outbreak to minimize the spread to the community. Situation 4 (community outbreak) focuses on minimizing the impact of epidemics on the lives of people.
The plan also offers a number of measures to reduce morbidity and mortality such as: Strengthening the surveillance capacity of influenza A (H7N9) to ensure the availability of definitive diagnostic tests, early detect the first case to take measures to isolate, receive and treat in time; Firmly grasp the situation of the disease; Thorough treatment of outbreaks in poultry, waterfowl, air birds, not to spread to people; guide to supervise, prevention of influenza A (H7N9); Chemical equipment, drugs, protective equipment; Enhance food safety and hygiene; Establish a network of hospitals ready to receive and treat patients; having plans to expand facilities to receive and treat patients in each case; Training the treatment for nursing staff in hospitals for the diagnosis and treatment of influenza A (H7N9) and the use of emergency equipment ... In addition, to actively propaganda measures to prevent epidemics, ensure people are not confused, subjective and have enough knowledge to protect themselves, families and communities; Strengthen inter-sectoral coordination to mobilize participation in disease prevention of the whole society.
According to the Ministry of Health, influenza A (H7N9) in humans was first detected in China in April 2013, so far there are five outbreaks with 1,222 cases, including 295 death case. Some other countries also have detected as Malaysia (1), Canada (2). To date, our country has not recorded cases of respiratory infections caused by influenza A (H7N9). However, it is uneasy that outbreaks have been reported in provinces adjacent to Vietnam, such as Quang Tay, Van Nam and Quang Dong.
